Checking Accounts
Checking accounts or Share drafts provide UPCCU members ready access to their funds for the purpose of paying bills and making purchases. They are identical to checks with regard to their use and acceptance.
Some of the specific advantages of share drafts are:
- Funds may be accessed through the use of an Instant Cash & Check card.
- No minimum balance is required.
- Record keeping is easier with carbonless copies of each draft. This will provide the information you need to update your register and to balance your account to the monthly statement.
- Funds can be accessed through Automatic Teller Machines with the use of an ATM card.
- Overdraft protection from shares available upon request at no charge.
- Overdraft Line of Credit Protection Loans are available to qualified borrowers.
- Direct deposit and payroll deduction are the most convenient ways to make deposits. Deposits can also be made in person or through the mail. Automatic transfers to shares or loan repayments help members build their accounts and keep loans current.
- No monthly service charge or per check fees for personal share draft accounts. Charges for printing the drafts apply. There may be fees for statement or draft copy requests, stop payments and special service requests.
